The Alamo

In what is now San Antonio, Texas, the United States, Roman Catholic missionaries established the Alamo, a historic Spanish mission and defensive structure, in the eighteenth century. The Texas Revolution’s pivotal Battle of the Alamo, which took place there in 1836 and claimed the lives of American folk heroes Davy Crockett and James Bowie, took place there. It is now a museum located in the San Antonio Missions World Heritage Site and the Alamo Plaza Historic District.
