Mauna Kea Summit

The track is an unmaintained dirt and scree path spanning 10 km, with two brief road segments situated approximately 600 feet at the start and 1.6 kilometres close to the peak. Cairns and reflective posts mark the way above 10,000 feet. In January and February, winter storms can drop up to two feet of snow on the summit region, which is usually quite cold. At the end of the trail, you can see the James Clerk Maxwell Telescope.
