Plaza Mayor, Madrid

Spain’s capital, Madrid, is home to the Plaza Mayor, a sizable open area. It used to be the hub of Old Madrid. It was initially constructed between 1580 and 1619, under Philip III’s rule. Puerta del Sol, another well-known plaza, is just a few blocks away.
