The Overseas Highway


U.S. Route 1 (US 1) travels 113 miles (181.9 km) on the Overseas Highway, passing through the Florida Keys and ending at Key West. A significant portion of it was constructed on the Key West Extension of the Florida East Coast Railway, formerly the Overseas Railroad’s right-of-way.
