Geysir Hot Springs

Geysir Hot Springs, located in Iceland’s Haukadalur Valley on the Golden Circle, is home to the original “Geysir” that gave all geysers their name. Though now mostly dormant, nearby Strokkur erupts every 5–10 minutes, shooting boiling water up to 20 meters high. The geothermal area features bubbling mud pots, steaming vents, and colorful mineral pools, with easy access via paved paths and a visitor center nearby.
