Museo del Ámbar

The Ámbar Museum is located in San Cristóbal de las Casas, Chiapas, which was previously a convent of La Merced from 1536 to 1546. It is located in what was the first retail establishment in America. During the second half of the twentieth century, the convento became a military cuartel until being converted into a prison in 1963.
