Siesta Beach

Siesta Beach’s sand is composed primarily of quartz, primarily from the Appalachian Mountains, unlike other beaches that resemble ground-up coral. With time, the rock’s feldspar and mica have been eliminated, leaving nearly pure quartz behind. The sand is so reflective that it feels cool underfoot, even on the hottest of days.
